The Monastery Gîte

The idea for establishing the NING MUI Monastery in 2002 is based on the wish to get to the bottom of an art and to develop it for a lifetime[1].

This project was realized[2] in the heart of the Ardèche, one of the most natural departments of France. The internationally recognized martial artist Lex Reinhart is leading the Monastery and lives there with his family.
The two buildings of historic style dated 1639 are positioned in an open V-form. They were renovated with respect towards the original architecture and are located at the height of 750 metres. The good quality of the materials combined with the plainness of the bare essentials give the ensemble a particular character. A natural park of over 60 hectares[3] of land inhabited by animals forms part of the property.

The Workshops

Training here is organized in a way which is totally different from a regular school. The outer circumstances at the Monastery are reduced to: training, eating, sleeping. The contents challenge all three sorts of intelligence: the intellectual, practical, emotional.
Any person who comes here should perceive the core of his own person and learn to make use of his or her potential. In a further step, this potential is enhanced by means of specific exercises. The persons in training should advance mentally, physically as well as emotionally and back home be able to integrate what they have learned into their daily lives.

Through conversations we furthermore seek to encourage the balance between energies like the masculine justice oriented moral reasoning (voice of justice) and the feminine care oriented moral reasoning (voice of care).
As starting points serve among other things Abraham Maslow's[4] model on the hierarchy of needs, in which we see the origin of motivation, as well as Jean Piaget's and Lawrence Kohlberg[5]'s theories on cognitive and moral development, with which we explain the greatest good - life.

The central theme are the inner forces, which we summarize in our 'Model of energies & forces'[6]. At the NING MUI Monastery these shall be newly aroused, gathered and strengthened.

Le Gîte Monastaire

En 2002, l'idée de fonder le NING MUI Monastery repose sur le souhait de comprendre fondamentalement un art et de le perfectionner pour toute la vie[1].

Ce projet a été réalisé[2] au coeur de l'Ardèche, un des départements les plus sauvages de France. Lex Reinhart, artiste martial reconnu internationalement, dirige le Monastery où il vit avec sa famille. 
Les deux maisons datant de 1639, positionnées en forme triangulaire ouverte, ont été rénovées avec beaucoup de respect envers l'architecture d'origine et se trouvent à une altitude de 750 mètres. Les matériaux de première qualité en combinaison avec la simplicité de l'essentiel donnent à cet ensemble un caractère très particulier. Un parc naturel sauvage de plus de 60 hectares[3], habité par des animaux, fait partie de la propriété.

Les Stages

Ici, l'entraînement est organisé totalement différemment que dans le fonctionnement scolaire habituel. Les circonstances extérieures se réduisent à: pratiquer, manger, dormir. Les contenus sollicitent toutes les trois intelligences: l'intellectuelle, la pratique, l'émotionnelle.
Qui vient ici, est censé reconnaître le fond même de sa propre personne et apprendre à utiliser son propre potentiel. Dans un prochain pas, ce potentiel est amélioré à l'aide d'exercices ciblés. Les personnes qui s'entraînent sont censées avancer sur le plan mental, physique et émotionnel et de retour chez elles, être capables d'intégrer les enseignements dans leur vie quotidienne.

En outre, favoriser l'équilibre entre des forces comme la morale de justice masculine (voix de la justice) et la morale de sollicitude féminine (voix de la sollicitude) sont recherchées lors de conversations.
Les bases qui ont servi de modèle sont la hiérarchie des besoins d'Abraham Maslow[4], dans lequel l'origine de la motivation apparaît, ainsi que les théories sur les stades de développement cognitif et moral de Jean Piaget et Lawrence Kohlberg[5], avec lesquels se justifie le bien le plus précieux - la vie.

Le sujet central est les forces internes, résumées dans le 'Modèle des énergies & des forces'[6]. Au NING MUI Monastery elles peuvent être de nouveau éveillées, réunies et fortifiées.
